James Coburn plays cynical con man Eli Kotch who masterminds a bank heist while charming unsuspecting women along the way. Having bluffed his way out of prison he buys the blueprints for the bank at LA International Airport for $90,000. The money's due in 90 days so this is the deadline for his robbery. In the meantime he marries Inger (Camilla Sparv) in the hope of getting closer to her wealthy employer. He pulls off the bank raid and ditches his wife who, in an ironic twist, suddenly become much wealthier.
