Warmhearted comedy about a regular guy who, being a dead ringer for the American president, is employed as a stand-in when the leader is taken ill. But then the president has a stroke, and Dave's temporary assignment is extended indefinitely. Settling into the role, he transforms the president's image, and wins over the First Lady and, gradually, the nation. But the chief of staff is plotting against him.
