A middle-class teenager living in '70s Montreal dreams of abandoning his familiar surroundings to seek a brighter future in director Jean-Marc Vallée's coming-of-age drama.

Sexually-confused Zachary Beaulieu (Marc-André Grondin) longs to live up to his old-fashioned father's (Michel Cote) more traditional expectations and as he seeks solace in the sounds of Pink Floyd and David Bowie, his mother assures him that he's bound for greater things.

Despite feeling bound by his comparatively normal surroundings, the revelations provided by David Bowie's "Space Oddity" allows the disheartened Zachary the luxury of dreaming.
