This academy award winner depicts the story of a Father Flanagan (Spencer Tracy), who after hearing a convicts story, battles the local community and the courts to provide a home for delinquent boys, the boys that society wishes to throw on the scrap heap.

One boy, Whitey Marsh (Mickey Rooney) prooves to be a tough challenge due to his constant, often successful running away. However when he runs to his brother's gang Father Flanagan and his boys follow, capture the crooks and shops them to the police. The reward money ultimately saves the town.
