Ida Lupino and Robert Ryan star in Harry Horner's gripping psychological thriller. She plays Helen Gordon, a young widow who runs a boarding house. She hires handyman Howard Wilton to maintain the property, little realising he is mentally ill and fixated on her. And by the time she realises the danger, Wilton has managed to make her a prisoner in her own home...
