Gene Saks' comedy of opposites stars Robert Redford and Jane Fonda as newly-married couple Paul and Corie Platter. He's a straight-laced lawyer, but she's a free spirit. Setting up home in a Greenwich brownstone, peopled by eccentrics, they soon find their conflicting personalities causes clashes but when matters reach an emotional climax that threatens their relationship, advice from Corie's mother pours oil on the troubled waters of their marriage.
