Sent to Bangkok to carry out a series of jobs, veteran hitman Joe (Nicolas Cage) struggles with his lonely existence as he arranges the killings. Hiring local street hustler Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm) to help him carry out his deadly task, Joe's world is turned upside-down when he falls for local girl Fon (Charlie Yeung). Letting his guard down as he contemplates a normal life, Joe soon discovers that, in his profession, there is no easy way out.

Remaking their own 1999 Thai film, the Pang Brothers (best known for the original version of horror The Eye and its sequels) are on safe ground with this bulletstrewn action bonanza. Making the most of the neondrenched Bangkok nightlife, the brothers spin a lean, frequently explosive yarn that gives Cage plenty of opportunity to look mean and moody, despite sporting a hairstyle that makes Tom Hanks' Da Vinci Code mullet look chic.
