Drama in which a mother plays on the affections of old flames in a bid to raise the funds for her son's badly needed eye operation. Life gets increasingly complicated as she collects the fees for the operation from would-be lovers queueing for her exclusive favours. Sophia Loren plays opposite her real-life 11-year-old son, Edoardo Ponti, here making his acting debut.
