Kar Wai Wong's film, showing in the redux version released last year, stars Leslie Cheung as Ouyang Feng, a disillusioned assassin who runs a lodging house in the back of beyond for those of his kind and those seeking killers. Through his doors come the blind, the mad and the sad and when they confront each other, swords are drawn. Maggie Cheung plays the woman he yearned for who married his brother, and the film also stars Brigitte Lin and Tony Leung and is shot by the doyen of Chinese films, Christopher Doyle.
