During a safari trip in the depths of a jungle, a photographer mysteriously dies. Now boxed up and ready for being returned to his family and friends - a strange spider decides to climb on in with him and hitch a lift back to the USA.

Through a number of coincidences and accidewnts, this spider finds it's way to the new home of the arachnophobic, Dr Ross Jennings (Jeff Daniels), where it sets up home in their barn.

Now after mating with a common house spider, thousands upon thousands of tiny spiders are swarming the town. Looking harmless enough these spiders are deadly - once bitten you will only take a few minutes to die from an apparent heart attack.

After a hot-shot high-school football star keels over on the pitch, and the mysterious death of an old couple eating popcorn infront of their TV the community start to ask questions. It isn't long before arachnid experts are called in to help that they realise that not only are these spiders deadly - they are also unavoidable as they sense and attack the slightest movement.

The local pest exterminator, Delbert McClintock (John Goodman) has a go to kill them, but..he can't, so it's now up to the Doc' to save the town.

Some scenes in this movie will risk damage to your ceiling they make you leap so high.
