After living the perfect existence as a suburban wife and mother, Kate's life takes a drastic turn when she decides to think for herself for once. Rapidly approaching forty, Kate is realising that although she has lived the way she has always been brought up to, she is still unhappy, and wants to do something for herself. She asks for a divorce and begins to live her own life. For the first time, she goes out to work, gains new skills and juggles bringing up her children with being a single working mother. But more challenges face her when Kate falls in love, truly and deeply in love with another woman.
