This visually stunning sci-fi story tells the tale of a young scientist called Eddie Jessup (William Hurt) who uses a sensory deprivation machine to perform ground-breaking experimentations.

In a desperate attempt to uncover a deeper truth about man's place on this world he becomes his own subject.

However his experiments into regressive states of consciousness eventually produces more physical results.
