When a congressman's daughter and her friend are kidnapped from an upper class Washington D.C. private school, the recently bereived Detective Alex Cross is put on the case.

Teaming up with a secret service agent, Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter), they discover clues that point to the fact that the girls were connected to a streak of murders that took place within the city.

All the signs lead to someone by the name of Gary Soneji (Michael Wincott) who just so happens to be the greatest criminal mind Detective Cross has ever come across, and also an insider!
