A young athlete who fears for his future meets a man in his sixties who claims to be the teenager's older self. Suffering from an injury and concerned about his college prospects, the young man is dismayed - and understandably sceptical - at the thought of this alcoholic man personifying his future. But the old man, a volunteer for a time-travel experiment, is determined to set them both back on the right track.
