Rita Hayworth plays Chris Emery, a nightclub singer keeping the temperature high in the Caribbean. When her husband is killed, his brother Steve joins forces with her to solve the mystery of his death, leading them to a world-shattering secret hidden on one of the neighbouring islands. Vincent Sherman's film re-united the stars of Gilda six years on in the same sweaty-menace-in-a-low-dive melodrama with Hayworth looking as glamorous as ever.
