I had a staring role in the opening sequences of this film, when Helen and Joe were travelling on the bus into Manchester down Medlock St. in Hulme there are a group of 4 or 5 boys playing football on a croft adjacent to Leaf St. Baths in the background, I was one of them! Blink and you've missed me! we each received a 10 bob note for our contribution to this social classic, from Tony Richardson or perhaps his assistant.
