Historical drama set during the French Revolution. A young English lawyer falls for the wife of a French nobleman and finds himself caught up in one of history's bloodiest uprisings. This was the sixth film adaptation of Dickens's famous novel - and one of the best. Unlike most of the others, this was actually shot in England and France.
