Sissy Spacek stars in this poignant and powerful family drama as Susan Lansing, a compassionate nurse who fosters terminally ill, baby Annie. HIV positive, Annie has been left at the clinic to die by her drug-addicted mother. Susan takes charge of her and brings her up with loving care and devotion. Two years on as Susan prepares to adopt little Annie, her birth mother turns up demanding back her daughter.
