Hot shot lawyer, Jan Schlictmann (John Travolta), helps 21 families sue two of America's largest industrial manufacturing giants over the illegal dumping of toxic chemicals into their community's water supply.

Believing the chemicals are causing cancer-related deaths and health problems in the communities young population, they fight the companies for compensation and environmental safety.
