Dark thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Joaquin Phoenix in which a surveillance specialist is hired to discover the truth behind a violent pornographic film found among a dead man's belongings. The investigation he undertakes for the man's widow drags him into the darkest corners of society as he attempts to verify whether the star of the film is alive or not.
