3 Men and a Baby (1987)
Directed by Leonard NimoyAlso known as "Three Men and a Baby"Running Time: 95 minutes (approx)Production Year: 1987Rating: U CertificateProduction Country: USAFilmed in ColourThis hilarious comedy follows the struggles of three carefree Manhattan bachelors who get a crash course in fatherhood when an infant mysteriously appears on their doorstep. The three bachelors are; Peter Mitchell (Tom Selleck), Michael Kellam (Steve Guttenberg) and Jack Holden (Ted Danson). Peter is a successful architect, Michael a successful cartoonist and Jack is a not-so-successful actor. The three cute, Manhattan, wild and crazy bachelors live in a multiroom apartment with a view of Central Park. The story follows Jack, who leaves for Istanbul for a brief acting job, and suddenly a baby shows up outside the men's door with an angry note attached to her. It seems that Jack did some damage in Connecticut and the mother wants him to take over the responsibility from now on. Unfortunately due to his absence, Michael and Peter are left to fill in for Danson until he returns - which means changing, feeding, placating. The predictable chain of events that you already laughed at once in the French version (by Coline Serreau) ensues. After growing very attached to the young person, along comes its mother Sylvia (Nancy Travis) - whom decides noit to take baby Mary away from them, but joins them and all live together like a big happy family. A hit remake of the French film 'Three Men and a Cradle', watch out for the ghost behind a curtain in one of the final scenes, which is briefly visible behind the curtains of a window. It looks like a motionless young boy and at one point there is an object in the window which some people have interpreted as a shotgun pointed at the boy's head. Cast
