Richard Jobson, ex-leader of punk group The Skids, male model and TV presenter turns director with this assured, confident adaptation of his own prose-poem. It tells, in flashback, the story of Frankie, who follows in his father's footsteps by becoming an alcoholic before meeting Helen and then, at AA meetings, Mary, who help him overcome his addiction. But while he's now straight, not all of his old friends have forgotten his violent ways.
