After last's season's shock announcement that he was relocating with his family to Chicago, Jack Malone experiences marital difficulties when his wife Maria announces that she wants a divorce and is seeking sole custody of their daughters. The newly-promoted Vivian leads the team in an investigation into the abduction of a blind teen and her mobility instructor who were snatched during a camping trip. But when she attempts to get hold of Samantha and Martin on their mobile phones early in the morning, the two are already together - in Samantha's bed.
