The body is identified as Chris Dearden, an air-conditioning salesman who went missing in 1996. Eve tells the team that Dearden was murdered by blows to the head. Boyd and Grace break the news of the discovery of the body to Dearden's wife, Lucy, who admits that she was having an affair at the time with landscape gardener Frank Monk, and they are still together.
