Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia during the Great Depression, this is the heart-warming story of a close-nit family - the Waltons. Based on the experiences of Earl Hammer Jr. events unfold through the eyes of John Boy Walton (Richard Thomas), an aspiring writer who portrays the trails and tribulations, the joys, struggles and relationships of the Walton family and their small lumber mill business. In this episode, Although the Walton children want to attend the Carnival, John and Olivia put their money to better use when grandma breaks her glasses.
