When THRUSH assassinates a small European country's national hero, Napoleon Solo engages in a mad duel with enemy agent Satine as each tries to outwit the other in a race for information that can save - or destroy - the world. The national hero, upon his death, leaves a medal on which are engraved the names of all THRUSH agents in the country. The list means life or death for both Solo and Satine, and millions of others, as they match wits, deceptions - and poisonous needles
