Lex goes to Detroit to find Kara, who is suffering from amnesia, and finds her working in a restaurant. He is shot by one of her colleagues, a jealous man who is obsessed with her, and falls into a deep coma. In order to discover his cousin's whereabouts, Clark uses technology created by Lionel to enter Lex's unconscious mind and interrogate him, a risky process.
