Ruth takes a special interest in the death of a single woman with no friends or relatives. David's new relationship is jeopardised by Keith. Claire is disgusted with Parker's behaviour. Nate and Brenda's relationship takes an unexpected turn, and Brenda, in search of a literary muse, turns to one of her massage clients, a prostitute called Melissa.
