When Carrie introduces Berger to her friends for the first time, he introduces them in turn to some sage romantic advice - if a man fails to put a sufficient amount of effort into getting to know you, 'he's just not that into you'. Miranda takes his advice to heart, sharing his words with the women of New York, who fail to appreciate her wisdom. Meanwhile, Samantha's sexual practices with Smith lead to a revelation, Carrie can't help criticising Berger's novel and Charlotte comes to an impasse in her relationship with Harry.
