Carrie is less than happy when Berger uses her first visit to his apartment as an opportunity to open the dreaded "ex-file", prompting her to ponder the question: "how much knowledge of your steady's past relationships is too much?". Samantha's waiter/lover is fired after they are caught in a compromising position behind the kitchens - so she finds an original and sexy way to make it up to him. Miranda confuses Steve by continuing to suppress her true feelings for him, and Charlotte is shocked by the changes she will have to make to become a Jew. After a run-in with Mr Big, Carrie asks herself: "can you get to a future if your past is present?".
