Carrie and Petrovsky host a dinner party for her friends, during which they reveal that Petrovsky is moving to Paris - and Carrie is considering moving with him. While Miranda, Sam and Charlotte digest the news, Carrie distracts herself with matchmaking. Enid Frick, her editor at Vogue, is in need of a date for her own party, so Carrie brings the somewhat diminutive food critic Martin Grable. But Enid is far from happy. The party gets out of hand when an old friend of Carrie's shows up, and a terrible accident causes Carrie to rethink her life.
