Drama based on the events in Paris in 1913, when the opening performance of Stravinsky's controversial ballet The Rite of Spring provoked a riot in the theatre that will be remembered as arguably the most scandalous premiere in the history of the arts. Masterminded by the Russian impresario, Sergei Diaghilev and choreographed by his lover, the dancer Nijinsky, the ballet changed the course of musical and cultural history, as well as the lives of everyone involved.
