Sean and Christian operate on a young woman who claims she accidentally shot herself in the face. Christian urges Sean to go under the knife himself as he reluctantly celebrates his 40th birthday. More worryingly, Sean starts to suffer from muscle spasms in his hands during delicate surgery. Christian is also painfully aware of his own ageing process as he fails to pick up a young lady and agrees to help raise Gina's baby. And Julia's narcissistic mother pays a surprise visit, demanding surgery.
