This mini-series is set in a small town which has been devastated by a local kidnapping.

The abduction of a young boy by a sociopath shocks the small, secretive community of Deer Lake.

As the local sheriff and a field agent from the State Bureau of Investigation team up to find the boy and catch his abductor, taunting messages are left for the police to find, and the agent soon realises that the abductor is playing games with her.
