Sipowicz is annoyed when federal agents take over their investigation of the disappearance of a millionaire. Simone aids an old prize-fighter friend, the guy who started him with birds, and who thinks he doesn't need any help. A petty criminal from the past surfaces with information about a kidnapping; Sipowicz decides to act on it.
