Detectives investigate the bludgeoning to death of a young woman apparently killed by her gambling ex-boyfriend. Meanwhile, Sipowicz seeks the aid of Diane Russell, now working in Special Victims Unit, asking her to encourage Adrian Caffee to come forth with damaging testimony against her parents who want custody of Connie's baby.
