Drama following mathematical genius Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) as he helps his FBI agent brother Don (Rob Morrow) solve perplexing crimes in Los Angeles. Charlie is able to predict where a gang of bank robbers will strike next, but when Don and his team confront the thieves, a massive shoot-out erupts, leaving four people dead. Deeply disturbed by the outcome of his help, Charlie retreats into the family garage to work on an unsolvable mathematics problem, but Don badly needs his brother's help and tries to get Charlie to return to the case.
