As Hallowe'en approaches, Monk is enlisted by his brother Ambrose to solve the murder of an armoured car driver, who has been shot dead with his own gun. A vital clue is provided by the odd fact that a man dressed as Frankenstein's monster has begun stealing candy from trick-or-treating children.
