Feature-length drama about a detective whose patch is a seemingly idyllic rural district. A group of amateur painters become unwitting witnesses to a murder when one of their number is killed. DCI Tom Barnaby is taken off the case because his wife was part of the group, but he retains an interest in proceedings. Meanwhile, a bag containing some incriminating photos is stolen.
