For Judge John Deed, following the letter of the law can be tricky when the courtroom is clouded with conspiracy, heartbreak and scandal. A passion for doing right often leaves Deed at odds with his colleagues, family and lovers - is all fair in the pursuit of justice? Controversial cases, pressure from high places, family problems and a broken heart; the eponymous judge has them all in the fourth series. A hospital believes a two-year-old should not be resuscitated, but the child's parents believe it is God's will that he should live and say they'll fight for him in court.
