Well, Martin Shaw's career has certainly progressed. From being an elite undercover operative in The Professionals, he's gone on to become a tough High Court judge in this powerful and sometimes controversial legal drama series. In this episode, a police informer is charged with a serious assault on his wife, but Deed is pressurised to acquit him because he could have vital information about the real IRA for MI5.
