Starring Joe Mantegna and Mary Steenburgen Joan of Arcadia is about a teenage girl, Joan Girardi, who sees and speaks with God in the form of assorted characters: small children, cute boys, elderly ladies, tramps, passers by... all sorts. God tells Joan to perform tasks that often appear trivial, contrary or plain weird, but always end up having a major impact. In this first episode, Joan meets God on the bus in the shape of a good looking boy. Meanwhile her dad is on the trail of a serial killer stalking the community. Could these two events be connected?
