The first ever episode, from 1987, of the drama series featuring John Thaw as Colin Dexter's chief inspector. Morse teams up with his future partner Sgt Lewis to investigate the case of an attractive woman found dead at her home. All the evidence points to suicide, but Morse is convinced he is dealing with a murder.
