On the Ashfordly Estate, Herbie has difficulty trying to get heavy fencing tools out of his car and is in a lot of pain. Hugh Sanders angrily quizzes his wife Kitt over her black eye but she won't tell him where she got it or go to the police. He asks her to give up the savings and loan scheme. Perhaps Jenny would take it over, he suggests, as her husband wouldn't let a bloke get away with hitting her.
