Medical drama following Meredith Grey and her fellow first year interns as they try to cope with the demands of life both inside and outside the hectic hospital. Cristina and Preston have philosophical differences over a young boy who needs a heart transplant but doesn't seem to want it. The interns help Alex prepare for his exam re-sit. Meredith reminds Izzie about the true meaning of Christmas.
