Medical drama following Meredith Grey and her fellow first year interns as they try to cope with the demands of life both inside and outside the hectic hospital. Cristina, Izzie and Meredith are fascinated by the case of male patient, Shane, who seems to be pregnant. A sheltered young patient inspires Alex to better express his feelings for Izzie.
