As rumours of an epidemic sweep Chicago, Carter and Abby treat two children with ominous symptoms and the emergency room is placed under quarantine. Those patients trapped inside soon become scared and frustrated and stage a mini-riot in a bid for freedom. Pratt and Chen, who may have caught the disease, ignore their symptoms in order to save a homeless man's life
