Peter is still trying to prevent Carla from going to Germany. Romano reveals who will be the new Associate Chief of Surgery, to the amazement of the winner and terribly difficult consequences. Jeanie starts the ball rolling by applying to foster the HIV+ baby, as she tells Reggie some exciting news. Meanwhile Carol has found a companion in Luka and Carter and Elaine are going strong.
