Carter's grandmother encourages him to seek psychiatric help as his agitation and difficulty in sleeping get increasingly worse after his attack. Kerry returns to work after her suspension and gets a violent reaction from one of her child patients concerning her cane, while Mark's father develops pneumonia and is admitted into hospital. On his release Mark takes his father to sit by Lake Ontario where he gets a huge surprise from his loving son. Peter takes Cleo to meet his family, and Kovac takes Carol to look for a new car. Meanwhile Abby tries to get a young girls estranged mother to allow her other daughter to donate bone marrow, after her sister's leukaemia returns, but the mother refuses.
