The hospital suffers a series of power cuts throughout the episode, however when the emergency generators pack up, the staff frantically try to keep the seriously ill alive. Mark asks Carol whether Doug knows about the pregnancy, to which she replies no but she's going to fax him a letter explaining everything, however this is thwarted by another power cut outing the fax machine. Everyone is on alert after a comatosed patient is found raped and beaten and left in the hallway of ER. Romano begs Corday to stay in trauma, while Lucy starts another ER rotation under Carter, who finishes his relationship with Roxanne.
